The Spirit Trophy is HOME

Warwick Varsity football defeated the Goshen Gladiators 20 – 6 before a crowd
of over 3000 at Goshen HS Saturday September 11. The win returns the Spirit Trophy to
Wildcat Country as part of the history and tradition of the second longest running football
rivalry in New York State.
Warwick’s defense was led by “44” Jake Durie with 16 tackles. Justin Hurd and Skyler
Rodriguez both had interceptions for the Wildcats and Adam Miller recovered a fumble forced
by Durie. Outstanding defense was led by the defensive line of Max Kruger, Alex Negersmith,
Matt Amaturo, DJ Madura, Kyle Sass, Jacob Gibel, Devin Kick, Kieran Currao and many other
contributors. Kicker Drew Borner contributed 2 Touchbacks and was 2 for 2 on extra points.
Offensive highlights include a Nick DiMarco to Ryan McLaughlin 68 yard TD pass, Dan
Thorson 42 yard TD run and a Dimarco rushing TD. The Wildcats rushed for 135 yards on 18
carries behind outstanding offensive line play by junior center Joe Santiago, junior guards Jacob
Gibel, Tim Wilbur, junior tackle Christian Felix and senior tackles Dan Robledo and Aidan
Corrigan.
Warwick returns home Friday September 17 th vs the Washingtonville Wizards (Youth
Football Night) and are scheduled for a 7 PM kick – off. Youth players are encouraged to wear
their jerseys and cheer uniforms to the game. Go Wildcats!
